LENT | Week 1 | Luke 4:1-15
Epiphany is a season that shows us that God is just like Jesus. At the conclusion of Epiphany, we see Jesus setting his face toward Jerusalem; and with this moment, we enter into the season Lent.
What is Lent? As believers, the pinnacle of our annual celebration comes at Easter where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Like any celebration, Easter requires preparation. Lent is a season in the church calendar that prepares us for the resurrection. It reminds us that to have a resurrection, we have to have a crucifixion.
During this season, we will look at the temptation of Jesus as well as his final days leading up to the cross. As we observe this season, we hope that you would see the humanity and sufferings of Jesus, be aware of your own humanity and need for a Savior and allow the season of Lent to lead us to the center of Christianity, the cross of Jesus Christ.

Pastor’s Comment
Thank you so much for listening in here at West Side. We often say that we love the word of God because it points us to the son of God. We hope these messages encourage you and equip you to love Jesus more. We also want you to be apart of a local church, we believe these messages are only supplemental, being apart of a local church is essential. Blessings.
